VOLAC & PHLEGMATIC DOGS RELEASE ‘RUSSIAN STYLE COMPILATION & SETTING OFF ON 23-DATE

Volac and Phlegmatic Dogs, two of Russia’s foremost electronic music duos have come together, combining their unmatched prowess in the studio to deliver ‘Russian Style Compilation [РАШН СТАИЛ]’ on AC Slater’s Night Bass imprint ahead of their expansive ‘Russian Style North American Tour’ starting in August 2019.
An ode to their homeland, ‘Russian Style Compilation [РАШН СТАИЛ]’ features official artwork in the Cyrillic alphabet, in addition to music that perfectly exemplifies the Russian approach to the bass house. The four-track EP features two original songs and two remixes from each of the duos, acting very much as an exchange of musical ideas between the four producers. Phlegmatic Dogs open things up with ‘Bastard‘, a hard-hitting bass house track ripe with massive synths that set the tone for the rest of the project. Volac follows with ‘Tell You’, which features a litany of trippy synths over four-by-four drum patterns filled with sharp snares and hi-hats reminiscent of a more aggressive approach to tech-house. The third effort sees Phlegmatic Dogs’ take on Volac’s ‘Russian Style’, combining the latter’s signature soundbites with classic industrial bass synths. Closing things off is Volac’s absolutely enormous remix of ‘Cuatrocats’, a track released by Phlegmatic Dogs back in 2018.
Volac and Phlegmatic dogs will be taking their signature sounds to every major city across North America for their highly anticipated Russian Style tour. The ‘Russian Style’ concept originated back in 2018 with a series of parties across Russia featuring guests from all corners of the globe, including Wax Motif, Dr. Fresch, Moksi, Bassboy and many more. Combining global cultures with a unique Russian flair, the events capture a snapshot of a house and bass music scene that is truly international. Volac and Phlegmatic Dogs will be hitting New York City, Toronto, Las Vegas, Chicago, Detroit, San Francisco, Denver, Miami, DC, and many more as they tear their way through the continent between August and December of 2019.
Volac have quickly risen through the ranks of the electronic music world. The duos journey to the top began back in 2014 with the release of their debut EP ‘Me & My Crew’ via Sleazy G. Volac’s no-holds-barred approach to house immediately grabbed the attention of the electronic music world, and in 2015 house music great AC Slater signed them to his Night Bass imprint, through which they have released two full-length EPs. The two Russians have seen nothing but success since, with notable releases including ‘Filthy’, a collaborative effort with Dr. Fresch released through Tchami’s Confession imprint, and ‘Feel It’, released via Spinnin. Volac’s live record is equally impressive, appearing at some of the world’s biggest festivals such as EDC Las Vegas, Electric Circus, Holy Ship and Só Track Boa Festival in São Paulo. Now, the duo are joined by Phlegmatic Dogs on their ‘Russian Style’ tour, bringing their irresistible sound across North America.
Moscow-based Phlegmatic Dogs are on the cusp of bass-powered greatness. The two have enjoyed a slew of successful releases on since their debut EP ‘Rise’ came out back in 2013, with remixes for the likes of Wax Motif, Boombox Cartel, AC Slater and more. The latter even signed them to his label Night Bass, through which they released their acclaimed ‘NO CATS’ EP. Slater even called upon the duo to collaborate with him on a thoroughly massive remix of Kaskade, BROHUG, Mr. Tape and Madge’s ‘Fun’. The two are now joining fellow Russians Volac on the extensive ‘Russian Style’ North American tour as they continue to cement their place in the international house music scene.
