Beatport, the world’s number one destination for electronic music, announced today that they are joining forces with SiriusXM, the leading audio entertainment company in the U.S., to create a new weekly radio show airing on Sunday’s at 11pm EST on their hit electronic music channel, BPM (ch. 51). The show will bring the widely recognized Beatport sound and European dance hits nationwide to SiriusXM’s U.S. subscribers with the show “Pitch Control: Powered by Beatport”, and will be hosted by Beatsource Dance Curator, and Los Angeles-based Andrew Ortiz (aka “DJ Drew”).

“Pitch Control” debuted Sunday, April 5, at 11pm EST. The show concept was a joint effort, developed by SiriusXM’s Music Programming team and Beatport and Beatsource’s curation and music content teams.
Beatsource is a joint venture between Beatport and DJcity, the largest record promotion pool in the US, and serves the open-format DJ community with expertly curated music from labels around the world. Because of Beatsource’s presence in the U.S. market, and DJ Drew’s years of experience programming dance radio and at KIIS FM in Los Angeles for 20 years, it made sense for this combination to host the Pitch Control show.
DJ Drew will work in close collaboration with Beatport’s Berlin-based curation team, led by Raphael Pujol (aka “The Checkup”). Edwin Paredes (aka DJ Phenom), who serves as a Program Director at SiriusXM for Pitbull’s Globalization (ch. 13), and BPM (ch. 51). SiriusXM’s Vice President, EDM programming, Geronimo and Program Director, Rida Naser will also assist in overseeing this exciting new collaboration.
“We are thrilled to enter into this music and broadcasting partnership with SiriusXM, one of the leading music destinations here in the US”, commented Robb McDaniels. “So many U.S.-based electronic music fans are thirsty for the best underground electronic music tracks that will likely be the next big dance floor hits, and our world-class curation team and Beatsource’s expert staff are the perfect combination to deliver the goods on a weekly basis,” continued McDaniels.
The tracks on the weekly radio show will be selected by the Beatport curation team, representing the hottest tracks of the moment, while also taking into account real time activity on Beatport’s LINK service. Beatport LINK is the new streaming service that’s fully integrated with DJ software and hardware so that songs being played by DJs around the world are immediately known to the Beatport curation team.
SiriusXM’s BPM channel is available to subscribers nationwide on SiriusXM radios (channel 51), and to everyone – including anyone who is not already a SiriusXM subscriber – on the SiriusXM app and connected devices as part of SiriusXM’s recently announced free streaming access period through May 15.
