Ultra Music Festival to Adapt RESISTANCE Island for 2020 Return to Bayfront Park

Introducing: The Cove.

It's not lost on Ultra Music Festival's organizers that house and techno are among its most sought-after commodities. Owing to the success of RESISTANCE Island (even amid the 2019 edition's numerous challenges), they will adapt the stage into something called The Cove for the festival's celebrated 2020 Bayfront Park return.

In order to best capture the feel of RESISTANCE Island, The Cove will occupy an alcove overlooking Biscayne Bay. The adaptation will be one of many rearrangements made to Ultra for its anticipated 2020 edition.

Ultra has called Bayfront Park home throughout most of its lifetime. After the Miami City Commission voted down their contract to return there, the 2019 installment of the festival took place in Virginia Key. After a tumultuous event, organizers announced that the 2020 edition would take place outside of Miami. After that, city officials began talks to lure the event back so as not to forego its positive economic impact.

In the months leading up to last year's festival, organizers announced that the Arcadia Spider would no longer be part of the RESISTANCE stage. The massive installation was built by Arcadia Spectacular, a collective who worked with Ultra since the 2016 edition.

Ultra will take place from March 20th-22nd, 2020. For more information, visit the event website.
