Skrillex gave Travis Scott's "Sicko Mode" the boost it needed to get to the top.
Travis Scott's "Sicko Mode" serves as a case study demonstrating how remixes expose music to new audiences. Skrillex's bass-heavy remix of the track appears to have catapulted it to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart.
"Sicko Mode" debuted at No. 4 back in August, and spent four non-consecutive weeks in the No. 2 spot. Aside from being reimagined by Skrillex (real name Sonny Moore), the track may also have gotten a boost when Scott implored his sold-out audience at Madison Square Gardens to help him push the track to No. 1.
After cutting his teeth in hip-hop handling production work with a group called The Classmates, Scott released his first studio-length album, Owl Pharaoh, in 2012. Astroworld helped him achieve A-list status; the album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 200 Albums chart back in August of this year.
