The BPM Festival Moves to Costa Rica for 2020 Winter Edition

The event's winter edition is set to take place in Tamarindo, Costa Rica from January 15th-19th, 2020.

Starting a new chapter and carrying forward the tradition of their winter editions, The BPM Festival will return to Central America and host their 2020 edition at Tamarindo, Costa Rica. Taking place from January 15th-19th, the gathering will occupy a scenic yet modern venue along the northwestern Pacific coastline.

The award-winning underground dance music festival has been known for delivering exceptional production with the very best in house and techno talent for over a decade. For the inaugural edition in its new home, they will maintain the same format as years past. Events will take place across multiple venues over five days and nights with world-class musical programming in the picturesque resort town.

The festival is making its return to Central America after unfortunate events which took place at the festival in 2017 in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. The new venue, Tamarindo is celebrated for its ecotourism and known to be a surfer’s paradise. The scenic resort town is surrounded by national parks with an abundance of lush jungles and white sand beaches and offers the perfect opportunity to explore the natural beauty of Costa Rica in addition to attending the festival.

The BPM Festival, which stands for “Bartenders, Promoters, Musicians” was created in 2008. The event was meant to be a post-New Years gathering of industry professionals and was held in Playa del Carmen, Mexico until 2017. In that time, BPM grew to be known as a must-attend for all with a discerning taste for quality underground dance music.

Since its inception, the festival has expanded on a global scale and hosted several events in leading dance music hotspots including Bali, Barcelona, Ibiza, New York City, and more. 2017 also saw the festival expand further, hosting The BPM Festival: Portugal, which will see its third edition take place from September 12th-15th, 2019 in Portimão. The most recent addition to their list of events includes the one-day festival in Israel, The BPM Festival: Tel Aviv, which is set to take place on September 30th.

While the lineup still remains to be announced, for more details regarding the event and to pre-register for tickets, head to the official website here.
