The entertainment roster went on as planned despite the incident.
Allegations that neurotoxins were released somewhere on the grounds of Transmission Festival have begun to circulate on social media. The Prague trance festival drew to a close at its scheduled time of 6:00 AM CET, and its organizers don't appear to have let the incident disrupt its entertainment offerings.
Transmission attendees recounted via social media that a device set off in in the crowd had caused a mass panic. People allegedly panicked and ran for the exits, some of whom collapsed before getting out. Although Transmission Festival takes place in the enclosed O2 Arena, the festival's organizers allegedly made no attempt to evacuate the venue. No serious injuries have been reported in connection with the incident.
Transmission Festival has taken place annually since 2006 and has booked acts like Markus Schulz, Armin van Buuren and Above & Beyond. The event brand has expanded to include German, Australian, Thai, Chinese and Indonesian editions, but the flagship festival has taken place at the O2 Arena since 2008.
EDM.com has reached out to spokespeople on behalf of Transmission Festival for comment on the incident, but we have not heard back at the time of writing. This article will be updated with more information as it becomes available.
