Avicii's posthumous album has landed another #1 on the Billboard charts.
The accolades haven't stopped rolling in for Avicii's posthumous album. Two weeks ago TIM hit #1 on Billboard's Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart. Now, one of the most notable entries of its tracklist has reached the same position on the publication's Dance Club Songs chart.
"SOS," on which Avicii collaborated with American singer/songwriter Aloe Blacc, marks the second Billboard #1 to result from TIM. The song was originally shared back in April as a lead single ahead of the album's full release.
Following a career which saw him skyrocket into EDM superstardom and then retire from touring in 2016, Avicii (real name Tim Bergling) tragically committed suicide in April of last year. The songs comprising TIM had been mostly completed in the months leading up to his untimely death, and his family enlisted his final collaborators to finish them according to notes found after he passed.
On the one-year anniversary of Bergling's death his family launched the Tim Bergling Foundation, which will support initiatives geared towards suicide prevention and mental health awareness, among other things. All proceeds from TIM will be donated to the organization.
