Output NYC to Shut Down in 2019

After a nearly six-year run, Output in NYC is closing its doors for business.

Famous Brooklyn nightclub Output will close following their New Year's Eve celebration at the end of the month. The news comes as a shock to both employees and patrons, as up until today there were events listed for January 2019.

In a statement posted to their Facebook page, Output's management has cited "rapidly shifting social trends, unfavorable market conditions and weakening financial outlooks" as contributing factors to the shutdown. Similar to when Webster Hallclosedin 2017, the turn of events will certainly be felt as a loss by members of the NYC electronic music scene.

Known for an impressive Funktion-One sound system as well as a ban on photo and video, the intimate venue with a 452-person capacity opened in January of 2013. A consistent slew of impressive artists graced the decks, including Benny Benassi, Ben Klock, Chris Liebing, Bonobo, Claude VonStroke, deadmau5, Eric Prydz, Jauz, Mija, Nicole Moudaber and Rezz.

In 2017, Output won Club of the Year at the Electronic Music Awards, beating out Fabric in London, Berghain in Berlin, and DC10 in Ibiza. They won numerous accolades fromDJ Mag and others throughout their nearly six years of operations.

Their rooftop, branded as Canopy Bar, commanded stunning views of the Brooklyn area, and played host to legendary parties in addition to an EDM.com showcase this summer. A ticket to Output also granted you entry to The Panther Room, underneath Canopy Bar.

Output's management have prided themselves on offering no bottle service, no VIP section, and no nonsense. They set themselves apart with an inclusive attendance policy, with admission granted to anyone who could afford a ticket.
