The two enlisted the talents of Crankdat, Effin, and Holy Goof to give their own spins on the festival banger.
Already a staple across festival lineups, and accumulating a rapidly-growing worldwide audience, NGHTMRE (real name Tyler Marenyi) has exponentially expanded his global influence since merging hip-hop and EDM worlds. “Redlight,” a collaboration with A$AP Ferg that Marenyi had teased for two years prior to its release earlier this year in March, has made serious waves in both communities, amassing just under 10 million digital streams.
Today, the heavy-hitting track is back in the spotlight after receiving three monstrous remixes from rising bass artists Crankdat, Effin, and Holy Goof.
“Redlight,” which was quickly followed by a VIP remix and a Flosstradamus remix in April, compacts tension-building leads, high-energy vocals, and booming bass lines perfect for festival grounds and dance floors everywhere. The track's riot-starting qualities are on full display with each finely-tuned remix.
Crankdat's remix of “Redlight” accentuates the original record's bold lyrics by adding a bass-boosted beat and attention-grabbing, skillfully placed sound effects. The 22-year-old producer has blown up the dubstep scene in the past year, playing hundreds of shows across the world and holding down a Las Vegas residency with Hakkasan Group.
Effin’s remix showcases his alternative and progressive approach to dubstep. The Icon Collective alumni pairs traditional drum and bass elements with rhythmic dubstep sounds and absolutely out-of-this-world sound design in order to create a distinctive style that has separated him from the pack. Bass music lovers will want to keep a close eye on Effin, as there is much more to come from this forward-thinking visionary.
Hot on the heels of the release of his Globes album, Holy Goof absolutely killed his version of “Redlight," turning it into a supercharged bass house track. Over the last two years, Holy Goof has continuously shown off his refreshingly original and fluid style, earning him support from top EDM tastemakers Tiëstoand Jauz.
The “Redlight” remixes arrive by the way of Ultra Records and Prodigy Artists, and are available for streaming on all DSPs. The remixes can be found here.
