Malaa, Ty Dolla $ign and More Announced for Friendship 2020

Friendship will set sail from Miami to CocoCay with a stacked lineup.

After embarking on its maiden voyage in late 2018, FriendShip is all set to return January 6-10th of 2020. Setting sail from Miami to CocoCay in The Bahamas, this time the festival has received major upgrades.

AMFAMFAMF presents FriendShip announced their lineup for the next edition, and it's one to look out for. The world-class music cruise experience they are known to provide is only set to be enhanced in many ways.

The 2020 lineup includes GRiZ, TroyBoi, Bob Moses,Malaa,Boys Noize, Mija, Ty Dolla $ign), and bossman DESTRUCTO, among others. Dita Von Teese will also return to perform her burlesque show. While more musical acts will be added to the lineup over the next few weeks the festival will also be adding a host of other acts such as comedians, magic shows and other onboard entertainment.

Gary Richards, the main man behind the event spoke to Billboard and said:

“We’ve got some special treats in store. Ty Dolla $ign will play his new album live for us, plus he’ll do a reggae party with Green Lantern on the beach. That’s never happened before. Channel Tres and his 'Compton G’ sound is something I’m really feeling from him this year. We’ll have Bob Moses live in the theater. Egyptian Lover is going to do an 808 clinic. Also, we’ve booked two amazing comedians who will each do two shows."

Cruise ship aside, the destination island has received massive upgrades as well. This time around the festival is being hosted on Royal Carribean's the Navigator of the Seas, which just underwent a $115 million overhaul renovation. The ship will take Friendshippers to CocoCay, which is a private eco-certified location in The Bahamas. The island's brand-new, $250-million-dollar renovation includes a new dock and a massive water park. The additions will allow the festivalgoers to stay later into the evening for island parties. With multiple beaches, pools, ziplines, floating bars and bungalows, attendees are in for a treat to enjoy the Bahamian paradise with sun, fun, and tunes on white-sand beaches.

The inaugural edition took place aboard the glamorous Celebrity Equinox and sailed from Miami to two private island beach parties in CocoCay, Bahamas. The four-day-and-night EDM cruise sold out in less than 24 hours in spite of being its maiden voyage, and it was attended by 3,000 revelers. The December, 2018 sailing boasted a lineup including Rüfüs Du Sol, Dixon, Claptone, and many others.
