Diplo doesn’t always make playlists, but Pride Month calls for a special acknowledgment of the LGBTQ artists who remain impactful in the music industry throughout the year.
“Sorry I don’t make more playlists,” Diplo wrote in a recent Instagram post, “I’m working hard making sets every night when I DJ…almost always trying to improvise or do something new and looking to break new music.”
While Diplo admittedly doesn’t always have the time to craft playlists, the producer took a moment to acknowledge Pride Month via the curation of a playlist dedicated to showcasing musical selections from the various gay and nonbinary artists with whom he’s worked, and from those who have continually served as sources of inspiration in the course of his own career.
Sorry I don’t make more playlists. Im working hard making sets every night when I DJ.. almost always trying to improvise or do something new and looking to break new music..I forget how easy it is to just show you and let you experience it on your own at the link in my bio.. I know Pride Month is almost over but I’m gonna take the opportunity to share some of my friends @theonlymikeq @jayrneutron @_mykki_ @thisiskandy music and some amazing artists I’ve collaborated with @nickydab @pabllovittar @whereisstarrah and other LGBTQ artists that always inspire me. Because like i posted before, These artists set the table for what trends we have in the clubs today by taking risks and being loud and fearless. If you get a chance do your research and learn about their scenes and book some of them in your town and add them to your own playlists A post shared by diplo (@diplo) on Jun 19, 2018 at 1:26pm PDT
