Kygo Releases “Higher Love” with Whitney Houston

Whitney Houston's first record in seven years arrives.

Norwegian producer Kygo has teamed up with Whitney Houston's estate to release the first posthumous record from the legendary songstress who passed away seven years ago.

The collaboration, a cover of Steve Winwood's "Higher Love," was facilitated by Whitney Houston's mentor Clive Davis. Houston had performed the song live during a show in Tokyo in 1990 and recorded the vocal track in 1991. The cover was originally intended to be released as part of her third album but did not make the cut at the time.

Now, over 25 years following Houston's memorable performance of the song, Kygo was approached with the opportunity to bring a new dance-driven flare to the record and release it officially. “I was honored when the Whitney Houston estate reached out and presented me with the opportunity to work with one of the greatest female vocalists of all time,” said Kygo of the endeavor.

Kygo is scheduled to debut the collaboration for the first time this Sunday, June 30th, during his performance at PrideFestival Utopia in New York City.
