Insomniac's southeastern U.S. conquest continues.
Between acquiring a majority share in Club Space and expanding EDC Orlando to three days in 2019, Insomniac are making their presence in Florida known. By the looks of things, they may soon add another festival to their Sunshine State portfolio.
On Thursday, August 15th, Insomniac Founder and CEO Pasquale Rotella revealed the EDC Orlando 2019 lineup through a "Music Through Music" mix series. Around the 17:40 mark in the below video, he hinted that the promotional powerhouse would soon announce something significant for EDM fans in the region.
"I'm not supposed to say anything, but I'm so excited. I have to say that we have some big Florida news coming this summer to you, and I believe you're gonna be super excited about it," began Rotella. He then pantomimed coughing, apparently blurting out, "We're throwing another festival."
Rotella could have been referring to Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival. Miami New Times reported that the festival would return in 2020, and a source told Your EDM that Insomniac had purchased an ownership stake in the event brand.
A spokesperson on behalf of Insomniac was not immediately available to respond to EDM.com's request for comment.
