Taking place across two magical nights, Countdown has established itself as the largest and most exciting NYE celebration on the West Coast. The event featured three massive stages, which had more than 1,100 lights, over 40 lasers, 24 confetti cannons, over 1,100 video tiles and nearly 30 co2 jets, over 50 world-renowned dance music acts and a slew of festive activities for Headliners to enjoy. The event included enormous headlining performances by Porter Robinson, Diplo, Galantis, Alison Wonderland, and the much anticipated return of Deadmau5, who performed the countdown and delivered a festival moment that will be remembered for years to come!

Day 1 kicked off with acts such as Two Owls, BroHug, Born Dirty, Wongo and Funtcase, all who delivered crowd rocking performances to the delight of everyone who was in attendance. We managed to meet up with these acts to talk about their performances and plans for 2018, all of which you can listen to on the January 5th/6th episode of Jack’d Up Radio!

In addition to dancing the night away, VIP headliners were treated to exclusive amenities such as a complimentary beauty bar and sweet treats from @DonutBar, a kandi bracelet making station, an interactive photo op with colorful NYE props, a 2018 ‘Resolution Wall,’ and a complimentary champagne toast at midnight complete with noisemakers, confetti poppers, and glow rings.

The first day was capped off by two more than worthy headliner performances, one by the amazing story teller Porter Robinson, and the other a rare back-to-back neck breaker by Zed’s Dead and Jauz. Porter delivered a set in the way that he has perfected. Incredible records, all strung together with a deep narrative that truly guides the listener through a masterpiece of an audible tale. Meanwhile on other stage, the dynamic trio of Zed’s Dead and Jauz delivered on the hype, bringing a jaw rattling, heavy hitting set list, along with guest singers to fully leave everyone in attendance in awe.

For the second day of the festival, Headliners were treated to amazing acts and performances by Yellow Claw, W&W, Flosstradamus, Datsik and Borgore to name a few, but none were more memorable than the longly awaited return of the one and only Deadmau5 to an Insomniac Festival, and he did not disappoint. In true Deadmau5 fashion, and with his iconic Cube stage, the mouse delivered a masterpiece performance that many Southern California fans have been waiting years to see. Although the set was filled with numerous breathtaking moments, the midnight countdown to 2018 with surprise guests Rick and Morty was a moment that everyone in attendance will be talking about for years to come, and will be incredibly hard to top.

We would like to thank Insomniac Events for having us out to cover this amazing event, and we are so excited to see what they have in store for 2018! The past year has been filled with dozens of ground breaking performances and events, and we know that we’ve only seen the beginning of whats to come!
