Insomniac Escape Psycho Circus outdoes itself, AGAIN

As the sun set, the lights shone brighter, the music boomed louder, and creatures of the night began to appear from every corner. Clowns, ghouls, and monsters of every shape and size, dancing to the worlds greatest DJ’s. It could mean only one thing, we were back. It was time for Insomniac Event’s, Escape: Psycho Circus!

The insane, theatrical two day festival, packed into the NOS Event Center in San Bernadino, California, once again delivered a world-class halloween party experience, not possibly matched by any other event of its type on earth. Thousands, upon thousands, of crazed EDM fanatics, dressed from head to toe in costumes of every variety imaginable, descended up the events 4 massive stages, aptly named The Slaughterhouse, The Ghouls’ Graveyard, The Chopping Block, and The Cannibal’s Tea Party.

The Slaughterhouse stage spanned nearly 200 feet wide, enclosed within a 450-foot long tent, and featured a sadistic clown’s mouth smiling eerily from ear to ear. This enormous stage was created with over 700 video tiles, 375 lights, and 24 lasers, and brought to life incredible performances from DJ Snake, Marshmello, Tiësto and one of our favorite sets from the weekend, REZZ.

The Ghouls’ Graveyard dedicated Friday night to the Insomniac brand-favorite Bassrush Massive, with killer sets from Datsik, Flosstradamus and Nero, followed by big hitters on Saturday like Don Diablo, Zedd, and Eric Prydz. Our favorite set of the weekend was hands down NGHTMRE, who absolutely destroyed this stage in ways we never could have imagined!

With a different style and atmosphere, the Chopping Block was centered in the direct middle of the festival, and drew fans into its massive circus tent with hardstyle aficionados curated by Basscon, and genre-crossover acts hosted by Audiotistic, two of Insomniacs incredibly popular brands. Mike WiLL Made-It caused the crowd at his set to go crazy with a special guest performance by Rae Sreummund, and the legendary Boys Noize closed out the show with an rare, unprecedented live performance that only he could deliver.

The final stage of the event, but definitely not least, was the Cannibals’ Tea Party, hosted by Factory 93. Decorated and influenced by true underground fashion and minimal vibes, and with a giant black disco diamond at its center, the best in house music grooved and shook the dance floor the entire weekend, with hypnotic sets by Green Velvet, Jamie Jones, and Nicole Moudaber to name a few.

The music was not the only incredible feature of this massive event. Circus tents with incredible live performers, ghoulishly costumed dances, and haunted attractions covered every inch of the event centre, creating unique and terrifying experiences everywhere you went. The main attraction of the event, eerily titled “The Asylum”, was a staggering 32,000 square foot horror house, featuring movie-quality set design and special effects, 30 distinct environments, 120 interactive performers, and a custom horror soundtrack provided by Rabbit in the Moon.

The VIP Experience this year was also incredibly impressive. Located on the western side of the Slaughterhouse, the Escape: Psycho Circus VIP area was jam packed with beautiful, yet haunting decorations, ranging from beautiful, blood red chandeliers and furniture, to unique, interactive movie and television set pieces from horror favorites IT, Stranger Things, and The Shining to name a few.
