"…We are very appreciative of the amazing love and interest shown by the fans, promoters and media writers…"
Rumors abounded of Hardwell's anticipated return to the stage after Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano's Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) party. His manager, Anna Knaup, has addressed the speculations, asserting that his resemblance to the anonymous artist Mr. X is no more than a coincidence.
“I would like to officially confirm that whilst Robbert did make an appearance at SJRM’s ADE party, he was not there to perform but merely there to support his friends’ event and to enjoy the night," reads a statement from Knaup. "However, we are very appreciative of the amazing love and interest shown by the fans, promoters and media writers around the rumor of what so many of you felt was his return to the DJ booth."

Hardwell began an indefinite hiatus from DJing after a farewell Ziggo Dome performance during last year's ADE. During his time away, he's continued to release music, however, adding titles like "Being Alive" featuring JGUAR and "I'm Not Sorry" with Mike Williams to his ever-growing discography.
Knaup ended her statement by saying that Hardwell's team will make it known "if, and when, he decides to make a return to DJing," giving fans hope for such an announcement.
