Balaclava-clad DJ Malaa has come a long way since he surfaced in 2015.
Who is Malaa?
We don’t know the man behind the mask, but we know what he’s all about. House music tinged with villainous vocals. A groovy, sinister sound. Dark, gritty basslines. A stage persona that exudes mystery and grit.
The enigmatic producer has kept busy this year, dominating the festival circuit with Tchami, playing select solo shows, adding more mixes to his spectacular 30 minute Who Is Malaa mix series, and of course, dropping spectacular singles.
Now, he gears up for the Illegal tour, bringing his ominous sound to the masses across North America. The second show of the tour is this weekend in Brooklyn at 1896 Studios & Stages. An expansive, rustic venue, perfect for throngs of people to enjoy house music in. Expect warehouse vibes, fans in ski masks, and house music all night long.
