This is one of the artist's most laid-back works.
Ekali has released the acoustic take on his song "Leaving" featuring Yuna, accompanied by a music video. The artist (real name Nathan Shaw) unveiled his highly anticipated EP Crystal Eyes on OWSLA earlier this fall, and pop gem "Leaving" was one of the singles that led up to the release.
The newly imagined version of the song is mellow and laid back in comparison to the original; the minimal instrumentation under Yuna's vocal topline evokes a soothing feeling. The visuals are equally relaxing as well, featuring Yuna, Shaw on the acoustic guitar and other musicians on the drums, bass, keys and xylophone, performing the song in a beautifully illuminated studio.
Shaw's transparent and inspirational character in conjunction with his energetic performances has allowed him to continuously grow over the past years. His steady flow of well-produced and curated music has certainly contributed to his success, in addition to remixes of songs by artists such as Flume and Jack Ü, tasteful live edits, and his Awakening Mix Series.
Ekali's next performance is Your Paradise 2018 in Fiji, alongside fellow artists such as Habstrakt, What So Not and Mija.
