EDC Las Vegas 2019 sees Decrease in Total Arrests, DUIs Year over Year

EDC Las Vegas 2019's arrest totals are in.

Attendance of EDC Las Vegas reached upwards of 465,000 across three days of operations this past weekend. Of that, a total of 65 wound up arrested and in jail.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department maintained a running count of the arrest records for the May 17th-19th event. While the total offenses are low in categories across the board, EDC's lack of DUI arrests is worth noting. In addition to the increasing prevalence of ride share options, EDC's own successes in overhauling their shuttle service program and their creation of Camp EDC could be responsible for keeping DUI's low.

Below are the daily arrests by category as reported originally by the Reno Gazette Journal:

Friday

• Misdemeanor citations: 1 • Misdemeanor arrests: 2 • Felony and gross misdemeanor arrests: 25 • DUI arrests: 0

Saturday

• Misdemeanor arrests: 4 • Felony or gross misdemeanor arrests: 10 • DUI arrests: 0

Sunday

• Misdemeanor citations: 4 • Misdemeanor arrests: 7 • Felony or gross misdemeanor arrests: 13 • DUI arrests: 2

Totals

• Misdemeanor citations: 4 • Misdemeanor arrests: 12 • Felony or gross misdemeanor arrests: 51 • DUI arrests: 2

These totals are a marked decrease from EDC Las Vegas 2018 which saw a total of 118 arrests, 95 of which were on felony charges including eight DUIs.
