Growing up in Brighton, Kideko (real name Ryan Hurley) was influenced early on by British artists like Basement Jaxx and Fatboy Slim, often attending the latter artist's Beach Boutique parties with his mother. From drumming in local bands to studying music technology and production at college, Hurley continued to cement his passion for music.
Sampling Technotronic’s classic “Pump Up The Jam” on his breezy debut track “The Jam,” Hurley quickly caught the ears of leading dance music influencers like Annie Mac, Danny Howard and Pete Tong in 2015. Moving forward, Hurley propelled his pop-meets-club sound with songs like “Crank It” with George Kwali, “Burnin’ Up” with Friend Within, and “Dum Dum” with Tinie Tempah and Becky G.
Tune into Beats 1 One Mix to hear what Kideko is all about, and keep your eyes peeled as he gets ready to launch his own label, Make A Move, very soon.
