Calvin Harris Dethroned in Forbes’ Highest-Paid DJs of 2019 List

Following six years at #1, Calvin Harris has been declared 2019's #3 highest-earning DJ in the world.

For a considerable length of the EDM boom, Calvin Harris claimed the #1 spot on Forbes' annual "Highest Paid DJs" list. His 2019 earnings of $38.5 million landed him at #3 on the most recent edition of the feature for the first time since its 2012 inception, however.

Beating him out were The Chainsmokers and Marshmello, whose respective income estimates totaled $46 million and $40 million. The latter artist vaulted six spots from last year's list – and concurrent with his manager, Moe Shalizi's prediction, his earnings now rival that of Harris. Notably, the three aforementioned acts also made the same publication's "100 Highest-Paid Entertainers" list.

Other notable entries included serial entrepreneur Steve Aoki at #4 with $30 million, and familiar names like Skrillex, Tiësto and David Guetta found their way onto the list as well. The top ten artists collectively brought in $272 million, an increase over last year's figure of $260 million.
