Avicii’s Father Discusses Mental Health for Upcoming CBS Special

"Stop the Stigma: A Conversation About Mental Health" is meant to "remove the shame and blame" from the conversation around such ailments.

Avicii's father has not shied away from talking about the circumstances that led to his son's untimely passing. Klas Bergling spoke on mental health at IMS Ibizathis May in hopes of preventing more unnecessary loss of life, and he's done so once again for an upcoming CBS special titled "Stop the Stigma: A Conversation About Mental Health."

"Stop the Stigma" will air during a Wednesday, October 23rd episode of CBS This Morning, and it features Bergling's first on-air U.S. interview. In a snippet of the segment shared early, he can be seen talking about how his son got involved in music from an early age, as well as the circumstances that led to his rise and fall in the music industry – as well as his death.

Avicii (real name Tim Bergling) was found dead in Muscat, Oman on April 20th, 2018. It later came to light that he committed suicide. A year afterwards, his family founded the Tim Bergling Foundation as a means of raising awareness about suicide as a global epidemic.

Back in June, Bergling's posthumous album, TIM, was released with all proceeds going towards the organization.
