By 2020, Albert Bonniers Förlag could publish Avicii's documentary.
Avicii will receive an official biography by 2020 if everything goes as planned. Avicii Music AB, the company now responsible for assets belonging to the Avicii brand after the artist's death, have authorized Albert Bonniers Förlag to publish the work and enlisted Måns Mosesson to write it.
Mosesson has won awards like Sweden's Stora Journalistpriset and the international Prix Italia, among others. He also writes for Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter, for which he penned perhaps the most comprehensive article on Avicii's rise and fall.
Avicii (real name Tim Bergling) had discontinued touring in 2016 following a long struggle with drugs and alcohol as a result of rigorous touring. As of a few days ago, it has been a full year since he took his own life and was found dead in Muscat, Oman.
Shortly after the anniversary of his death, Bergling's parents announced the launch of an organization called the Tim Bergling Foundation that will support suicide prevention and mental health awareness initiatives, among other things. All of Avicii Music AB's proceeds from the biography will be donated to the foundation.
In the meantime, the remainder of the final Avicii album, Tim, is due out sometime in 2019. The lead single, "SOS" featuring Aloe Blacc, can be heard here.
