Autopsy Confirms Bonnaroo 2019 Death was Drug Related

MDMA, clozapine and fentanyl were among the drugs found in the Bonnaroo attendee's system.

A June 15th attendee death overshadowed the 2019 edition of Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival in Manchester, Tennessee. Following a June 16th autopsy, 27-year-old Ryan Dunleavy of Brentwood, Tennessee was found to have passed away from a drug overdose.

According to Davidson County Assistant Medical Examiner David Zimmerman's toxicology report obtained by the Tennessean, MDMA, clozapine and fentanyl were found in Dunleavy's system. His cause of death is thought to have been accidental, and it's the only fentanyl-related case to emerge from Bonnaroo to Zimmerman's knowledge.

Illenium, ODESZA and NGHTMRE were among the headliners on the Bonnaroo 2019 lineup. It took place from June 13th-16th at Manchester's Great Stage Park. In the weeks leading up to the event, organizers burned the festival's iconic arch due to structural issues.
