Ariana Grande Set to be the Youngest Headliner in Coachella History

The young diva is making history again in 2019

Coachella Music and Arts Festival is making history yet again this year with the recent announcement of the 2019 lineup. Ariana Grande will be closing out the two weekends, slotted as the youngest headliner in the legendary festival's 20-year history. She will join fellow headliners Childish Gambino and Tame Impala on the main stage. It is said Grande obtained the coveted spot after Kanye West refused to play due to the festival's stage design.

In addition to being the youngest woman to land top billing, according to her manager Scooter Braun, the “God Is A Woman” singer is the fourth woman to lead the festival.

She will follow in the footsteps of Björk, Lady Gaga, and last year's history-making performance by Beyoncé, the festival's first-ever African-American and female headliner. These acts left large shoes to fill but there's no doubt that after the year Grande had in 2018, she will blow attendees out of the water.

The young superstar has had a challenging yet prolific year following the release of Sweetener and her record-breaking release of "thank you, next". She set a Youtube record with the music video becoming the most-viewed video on the platform within a 24-hour window. Grande is still slotted at the number 1 spot on the Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart for the 7th week straight.
