60-Year-Old Glastonbury Staff Member Found Dead in His Tent

A guard was found dead in his tent at Glastonbury Festival on Sunday.

A security guard at Glastonbury Festival was found dead in his tent Sunday night. The cause of death is not being treated as suspicious at the time of writing.

The Avon and Somerset police released a statement on the incident:

"At 5 pm yesterday, we were made aware of the sudden death of a man in his 60s on one of the campsites at Glastonbury Festival. Officers attended and are satisfied the man’s death is not suspicious. The coroner has been informed."

The man was employed on behalf of G4S,which is a security firm that provided 25 employees for the event. He was not working at the time of his death.

"At 5pm on June 30, one of our employees was found dead in his tent at Glastonbury Festival, where he had been working as a security officer," a G4S representative said the tragedy. "The next-of-kin have been informed. Our thoughts are with his loved ones at this difficult time."

Glastonbury Festival took place June 26th-30th at Worthy Farm in the United Kingdom. It featured performances from The Chemical Brothers, The Killers, Stormzy, Billie Eilish, and more.
